There are many ways to honor God. You can honor him in your speech, your thoughts, your actions, the way you live your life, but one of the most challenging ways with which to honor God is our finances. We may believe we don't make enough to honor Him in the tithe, or we tell ourselves that once we do make enough, we will begin to tithe. In the book of Malachi, God tells us we can test his faithfulness by bringing to Him the tithe. In fact, it is the only place in the Bible where He exhorts us to test him. Every new year, we at Mercy Church have practiced an even more sacrificial way of giving that goes beyond the tithe. We bring our first salary of the year to the altar and we have witnessed and heard of countless testimonies that come from this sacrificial giving. He gave the ultimate gift, His son, Jesus Christ, sacrificially to save you. He wants to bless you and is waiting for you to open your hands and release so that you can receive what He has for you. He is the God who gives without limits, but are we willing to do the same in response to His goodness? Are we willing to bring to Him a sacrifice and experience His blessings? Dare to bring your first fruits this new year and watch Him open the floodgates of blessings in your life.
